A NEW SPACE
The Cooperative of Beaufortain is delighted to announce the reopening of La Fromagerie des Saisies following several months of renovation work. Completely redesigned, the store now offers a more modern, welcoming and functional space, while remaining true to the values that have guided the cooperative for more than sixty years: quality, authenticity and the promotion of local producers.
For many years, La Fromagerie des Saisies has been much more than just a shop. As a true showcase for The Cooperative of Beaufortain , it welcomes thousands of visitors every year who come to discover an exceptional cheese, experience the region and learn about the history of a sector deeply rooted in its traditions.
MODERNISATION ROOTED IN A RICH HISTORY
The recent history of La Fromagerie des Saisies began in the autumn of 2011, when the Beaufortain Dairy Cooperative acquired the Guiguet cheese dairy.
This acquisition quickly highlighted the constraints associated with a traditional production method that had become increasingly difficult to reconcile with growing milk volumes and the need to improve working conditions. An initial phase of modernisation was therefore launched to reduce the physical demands of the work, increase processing capacity and test a new curd-pumping moulding system.
These developments reflect the cooperative’s philosophy: to modernise its facilities while preserving the identity and excellence that define Beaufort cheese. Innovation is embraced, but always with respect for a know-how passed down from one generation to the next.
A REDESIGNED SHOP TO OFFER A BETTER WELCOME
This complete renovation reflects a clear ambition: to provide our visitors with a welcoming space that matches the quality of the products we proudly uphold every day.
The visitor experience has been entirely redesigned to make it smoother and more enjoyable. Natural materials, lighting, furniture and display areas have all been carefully selected to create a warm atmosphere that showcases the authenticity of Beaufort cheese and Savoyard specialities.
The product range has also been reorganised to better guide visitors in discovering the treasures of our region: Beaufort PDO cheese, Savoy cheeses, artisanal cured meats, delicatessen products, Savoy wines, honey, jams, biscuits and many other local specialities.
